About me

When my daughter was born in Turkey I was naive and lacked confidence, which kind of took the shine off of the whole new mum experience for me.  A few years later, determined not to make the same mistake twice, I decided to arrange the birth of my son in Scotland surrounded by my own family and friends.  Much easier right?  A number of factors such as the birth being induced, my son spending his first week of life in the neonatal unit, topped off with the passing of my wee Granny contributed to a tough post natal depressive struggle for the years to come. Overnight, I changed from being a happy- go- lucky positive mum of two to 'the lights being on but no-body home..'
My son is 6 years old now and when I look back on those years I still get a lump in my throat. What an uphill climb!  However, the lights can and do come back on.....

The purpose of this blog is to inspire one another to move forward in spite of our circumstances.  How to improve and maintain a healthy mind, body and spirit, be fit, have fun and know that everything is going to be ok.
